The European Medicines Agency (EMA)’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) recommended the marketing authorisation of Spinraza™, last Friday, the first treatment for 5q SMA. Read the news item here.
Since the news broke, the campaign to secure access to Spinraza™ here in the UK, has stepped up. Together with Muscular Dystrophy UK and SMA Support UK, we’ve put together some campaign tools you can use to make your voice heard with key decision makers in the four UK nations.
Write to your representatives in Parliament
Parliament will shortly be dissolved and MPs will not be able to take up cases for constituents until after the election on 9 June.
- If you live in England you can write directly to the Chief Executive of NHS England, Simon Stevens, calling on him to take urgent action on Spinraza™, using our template letter.
- If you live in Scotland, you can write to your MSP using our template letter.
- If you live in Wales, you can write to your AM using our template letter.
- If you live in Northern Ireland, you can write to your MLA using our template letter.
